Application Requirements

1.Application Qualifications

Applicants must hold a minimum of a Japanese high school diploma or equivalent. Note that students progressing to college or university will need to hold a Japanese high school diploma (i.e., 12 years, Form 6) or higher qualifications

2.Period of Study and Applications period

(Applications are only accepted in Japan)
April 1-Year Course / 2-Year Course - beginning of November
July 21-month Course - beginning of March
October 18-month Course - beginning of May
January 15-month Course - beginning of September

3.Application Requirements

Depending on the individual situation, additional documentation may be requested. Please, attach a Japanese or English translation for any document written in another language.

<Application documents>
1. Admission Application Form (Prepared form filled out by the applicant.)
2. Resume (Prepared form filled out by the applicant.)
3. The reason for studying Japanese at a pre-college. (Prepared form filled out by the applicant.)
4. Certificate of graduation from last school attended (Original)
5. Official transcripts from last school attended (Original)
6. Proof of Employment (Period of work, and kind of work to be noted.)
7. Proof of prior Japanese language study (Period of study and hours to be noted.)
8. 5 photos (4cm x 3cm)
9. Copy of your passport ID pages (If you have visited Japan, include those pages of visa and Japanese immigration stamps.)

<Required documents relating to financing>-- Choose from a. b. c.
a.If the payer is overseas:

1. Written promise to pay (Prepared form needs to be filled out by the payer.)
2. Proof of relationship to payer.
3. Proof of payer's employment (Period of employment and kind of job need to be noted.)
4. Proof of payment of tax
5. Proof of account balance/bank statement
6. Copy of bank statement showing payment. (You may not need to submit this depending on where you are from.)

b.If the payer is resident in Japan:
1. Written promise to pay (Prepared form needs to be filled out by the payer.)
2. Certification of Seal-Impression
3. Certificate of residence or certificate of alien registration
4. Proof of payer's employment (Period of employment and kind of job need to be noted.)
5. Proof of payment of tax
6. Proof of account balance/bank statement

c.If the applicant is the payer
1. Proof of payment of tax
2. Proof of account balance/bank statement
3. Certificate of family registration, birth certificate or similar identification
