Part-Time Jobs

You are allowed to work part-time if you have "Permission to Engage in an Activity Other Than That Permitted by the Status of Residence Previously Granted". Keep in mind, however, that your primary purpose is to study Japanese and good jobs are not available for people speaking no Japanese. We recommend that you start working when you get used to your life in Japan and your studies at school. If you are attending a short-time program, you are not allowed to work in Japan.
